ReviewLoft uses AI for two things. The first is the “Does AI recommend you?” check. It runs inside your dashboard, and the same check is offered to anyone, with no account, at our free AI visibility checker. The second is the support chat in the corner of our own pages, which answers questions about ReviewLoft (see below). Nothing else in the product is AI-generated — your review pages, QR codes, funnel, and feedback inbox involve no AI at all. Your customers never interact with AI through ReviewLoft, and their feedback is never sent to an AI provider.
When you run a check, we ask a third-party AI assistant the question a customer would ask — “What are the best [your category] in [your area]?” — and show you the full response, along with whether your business was named in it. It’s a visibility snapshot, like searching for yourself on Google.
Our current AI provider is Anthropic (the maker of Claude). API requests are processed under Anthropic’s commercial terms, and Anthropic does not use API data to train its models by default. We may change providers; this page will always name the current one.
/ai-check runs the same check for anyone, without an account, up to three times a day per connection. We send Anthropic only the business name, category, and location typed into the form. We keep that same text, whether the answer mentioned the business, and a one-way hash of the visitor’s IP address — the hash is there to count the three free checks and cannot be turned back into an IP address. Those rows are deleted after 7 days. No account is created, no email is asked for, and no cookie is set.
The response is stored in your account so you can review it and compare checks over time. Deleting the business deletes its stored checks. We do not use AI responses — or any of your data — to train AI models.
The chat launcher on our marketing pages and dashboard is an AI assistant. It answers only from help articles we wrote about ReviewLoft, shows which article an answer came from, and says so when it does not know rather than guessing. It can be wrong; the pages it cites, and a reply from us at legal@getreviewloft.com, are the authority. It is never shown on rating pages, so your customers do not meet it.
It runs on Support Proof, a product of Media Yard LLC, which uses xAI (Grok) to write answers and OpenAI to search our articles. What you type in the chat is sent to both for that purpose. Don’t type passwords or payment details into it — it never needs them.
AI answers are generated automatically and vary by user, day, and phrasing. A check is a signal, not a verdict: being mentioned is a good sign, and not being mentioned is a to-do list, not a fact about your business. AI assistants are not affiliated with ReviewLoft, and we cannot influence, buy, or guarantee a recommendation — no one can. What actually moves the needle is covered in our guide to how AI recommendations work.
